DIH strategy and strategy resources | HapaSpace Hybrid Workshop

On June 9th, 2022, HapaSpace Collaborative Space organized a Hybrid Workshop about strategy and resources, purpose-driven innovation, and the ways to identify capacities in Digital Innovation Hubs. The workshop brought 36 participants from DIHs and entrepreneurship spaces together with 28 online participants.

The workshop opened with Douglas Israel Boateng, Hub Manager of HapaSpace. Franklin Owusu-Karikari, Director of Business Support, NEIP Ghana, and Gideon Ofori Osabutey, GIZ, shared insights into opportunities in the Ghanaian ecosystem with the participants. The discussion continued with the presentation of the AfriConEU Project from Baby Promise Mwakale.

The training by Yaw Adu Gyamfi, Founder, Center for Social Innovations Hub emphasized the need to consider the changing dynamics of work when mapping out strategies. The importance of evaluation was also highlighted as it was mentioned that “What you cannot measure, you cannot manage it”. Additionally, the workshop gave prominence to the fact that the African DIHs need to take advantage of the AfCTA and collaborate with European counterparts to scale their businesses.

During the workshop, the participants applied the theoretical strategies into practice with hands-on activities, exploring the SWOT PEST Analysis, and then presented their research results.
